Blog Post #8 The New Video Game Era
I do believe everyone by now has seen the brand new systems
that have been released: PlayStation 4 and Xbox 1. I believe that if you have
not seen the new video game systems you should look into playing one, or buying
one if not for you then that special someone in your life. I myself have
sampled both systems and have seen a considerable difference between the two,
but I always leave out the third system because I believe it is for small
children. If one wants to learn or play fun kid adventures I would definitely
recommend the Wii. The two definite differences really between both of the
other two systems are third party game rights and the internet options. First,
third party gaming rights is a delicate and different subject most critics will
not approach. The reason is that writing about have Halo on PlayStation to get
better graphics, but then the backlash of all the Xbox fans boys will make the
magazine or blog destroyed. Third party gaming rights in my near expert opinion
should not exist and every game should be available for every system. Secondly,
internet options have gotten severely out of control. First of these options,
having to pay for a subscription to a service after buying the system and
paying for internet now you have to pay for the service connection too, what is
wrong with that right? Secondly, the companies are moving everything from games
in person to downloads and less physical property, but are that really a bad
idea? Yes, I like to be able to hold my games and what if you lose the download
or even the password to your account then what is someone supposed to do? In
conclusion, I believe that both of the gaming systems are fun and evenly
matched, but I would go with the cheaper option which is PlayStation 4.
Idk, I've never had a problem with paying for those subscriptions because they are pretty low for me. I do believe every game should be available for every system but I think you meant 1st party, not 3rd because 3rd party companies are the games that are on all systems. 1st party are the exclusive. But I can see why the companies have 1st person exclusivity because it gives the system an edge for fans of those games. As for digital over physical I personally love digital but I do think physical is important as a back up you know? On occassion for games I absolutely love, I don't mind having two copies of a game, one physical the other digital. Usually accounts have the option to retrieve passwords in case you forget so forgetting passwords shouldn't be much of a problem. What I love about digital copies is that for Xbox, PS, and Steam for the computer you can re-download the copy at any time which I think is awesome. I am happy to see you are neutral and have no negativity toward either system because I can't stand the people who rant and rave about how they hate one system over another. I can talk about this stuff all day. Haha.
