Blog Post #11 The New Blogger Experience

As someone who has never even kept a diary before I did enjoy writing the blog. I have to say that I was very happy and did my blog every week at first, but as the time went on some of the topics were hard to write about or could not think of a blog to create. The only thing I would like to see different would be to do more self-generated posts and possibly stricter deadlines. I did take the blogging serious until the last four weeks, but it did not want to do it I just lost interest in them and my deadlines showed I did not have to do them every week. This semester I learned that not only classmates, but people all around the world search and read blogs. I was having fun seeing all the different countries who liked revisiting my blogs and reading my updates. Blogging used in the classroom as an assignment can be useful and valuable to the professor. It is a useful tool to show a professor, what someone knows and how they are improving as a writer. It is also valuable to the writer to get feedback and good comments for someone’s peers. I think blogging is very sophisticated and that everyone should at least one time in their life try blogging on either a specific subject or on everyday problems. Thank you for reading and have a great summer.

Blog Post #10 The New Generation of Professionals

Recently, I have been visiting more and more employment services, and seeing all of the potential candidates for future careers really scares me. Even though, I have a job, looking at the job fields relating to health care and hospitality. I am realizing that the professional careers are slowing fading to school children with a ten month degree to change diapers and administer medication. Some people do not even realize that to be in this profession they cannot have any sort of background trouble with any sort of drug. To watch these children get turned away for smoking marijuana or should I say getting caught smoking. They can no longer have a professional career as medical personnel. This is a very delicate subject especially now that the laws are being adjusted to the generations and the states. I, for one, can honestly say I have smoked marijuana and I do not see the harm in any one who has been caught as long as they do random drugs tests or can pass the initial drug test. I would gladly put my faith in the hands of someone who has turned their life around after being given a second chance. Please if any of you reading do hiring I know policies now are tough, but think about a second chance everyone has been given them at one time or another. I believe the generations to come will have tougher struggles, but remember they are the generations we today have created.

Blog Post #9 The New Pink Yumminess

Recently I had the unbearable pleasure of watching a video about “Pink Slime.” If you do not know what Pink Slime is made of or from then here is a brief description. It is the leftovers after all the desirable cuts of meat from cows have been trimmed and sliced. Now that doesn’t seem so bad right? Wrong, that is just to get what the main ingredient in pink slime is. The other main ingredient is ammonium hydroxide, but it is worse than it sounds when digested is harmful and deadly. I feel that everyone in America should know all about this pink slime and exactly what products contain it. Even though, some microbiologists say when treated correctly is not harmful to anyone, but again the treatment is with dangerous chemicals and extreme high heat. I believe that most American’s have eaten a good amount of this pink slime in their lives, so why should we start caring so much now? I care so much more now that my own children are starting school and I would prefer that my children didn’t have some of the same health problems that my generation has. In perspective, children are in school eight hours a day and what is fed to them is by the school. I do hope that everyone will watch the video and comment on why or why not pink slime is good. Please be safe and start eating right not for just yourself, but everyone that loves you.

Blog Post #8 The New Video Game Era

I do believe everyone by now has seen the brand new systems that have been released: PlayStation 4 and Xbox 1. I believe that if you have not seen the new video game systems you should look into playing one, or buying one if not for you then that special someone in your life. I myself have sampled both systems and have seen a considerable difference between the two, but I always leave out the third system because I believe it is for small children. If one wants to learn or play fun kid adventures I would definitely recommend the Wii. The two definite differences really between both of the other two systems are third party game rights and the internet options. First, third party gaming rights is a delicate and different subject most critics will not approach. The reason is that writing about have Halo on PlayStation to get better graphics, but then the backlash of all the Xbox fans boys will make the magazine or blog destroyed. Third party gaming rights in my near expert opinion should not exist and every game should be available for every system. Secondly, internet options have gotten severely out of control. First of these options, having to pay for a subscription to a service after buying the system and paying for internet now you have to pay for the service connection too, what is wrong with that right? Secondly, the companies are moving everything from games in person to downloads and less physical property, but are that really a bad idea? Yes, I like to be able to hold my games and what if you lose the download or even the password to your account then what is someone supposed to do? In conclusion, I believe that both of the gaming systems are fun and evenly matched, but I would go with the cheaper option which is PlayStation 4.

Blog Entry #7 The New Way to Food Inc.

To be truly honest I have always thought about where my food has come from, but I have never wanted to know how it was made that way. I believe that ever process a food goes through should be semi-humane until i watched the movie Food Inc. Now that I have seen living conditions and even the inside of a slaughterhouse now I do not like the fact that animals are treated so inhumane and that we add so many chemicals to animal foods to grow them three times the normal size. The way food is supposed to taste and smell is really natural and the taste should make someone want more. I am reacting to seeing the animals abused compared to the chemicals that are used. The processed that is used to create most of our foods is amazingly gross and stupendiously wrong. I believe that animals should be slaughtered humanely and sparingly. The government should be ashamed of themselves for not being more involved, but not in the way they were portrayed being involved. The government should have more restrictions on this agribusiness and be able to do more inspections and have the right to shut down a factory if they are breaking major rules that are endangering lives. The relationship that is between the government and some of these businesses does not surprise me one bit. I understand that the lobbiest that are in Washington D.C. are their to make sure a business or niche of businesses arent shut down. I do know now that corn is used in so many more products that it makes me wonder, why we dont try and incorporate corn in a regular diet and see how it affects a persons digestion system? Food should not be as processed as people have come to known, but it does not have bad properties as long as eaten in proportion to someones diet. The word Engineered does not belong to the word food in any way, shape, or form. I believe if someone is going to be engineering food it should be to make enough so people are not starving in the world. When i saw the part of the movie that talked about bacteria it made me really cautious of everything i am feeding my own children. I have considerably changed my childrens eating habits to more vegatable and fruits, but i still feed them some beef and chicken. As Americans we should care about all the ways food could be processed, and the fact that people are dying because of the way animals are treated and processed just to feed us. I believe everyone will switch to more organic foods if they made the book "Skinny Bitch" into a movie. Please buy local and help change the way animals and workers are treated in these factory farms.
